Men of Note Division Champions 03/31/2010
The Men of Note Chorus recently was crowned division champion for the Northwest Region in the Barbershop Harmony Society’s Southwestern District.

With more than 50 men performing, the chorus earned high marks for its renditions of I Have Dreamed and Auld Lang Syne. The Men of Note competed against performers from throughout the North Texas/South Oklahoma division.

The chorus’ score also qualifies it to compete at the district competition to be held in Dallas next October.

Judges lauded The Men of Note for its intonation, vocal production and cleanliness of sound.

“The chorus has been working very hard and making steady improvement over the last few years,” said chorus director Mark Holdemen.  “Those efforts are translating into great things on the stage,” he said.

The Men of Note Chorus rehearses each Monday night at Highland Oaks Church of Christ in Plano. Guests are always welcome.

"This is a great start to our push toward the SWD title this fall.  We hope to have over 75 singers for this competition and welcome any area singers who may be interested in joining the Men of Note,” Holdeman said.  “Now is a wonderful time to get on board and begin the journey!"
